Hallowed Ultimatum is a homemade tabletop RPG that utilizes a homemade d20-based system. While heavily based on plot and player interaction, the game have proven in beta testing and demo groups to be a fun game to play as a whole.

Taking influence from pre-existing role-playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons and console-based role-playing games such as the Final Fantasy series, Hallowed Ultimatum boldly attempts to combine the two seamlessly into one plot-driven, fast-paced role-playing game.

Players take up arms as characters made for the game and main plot itself, choosing among 19 total characters. But of course, it's not that simple. Hallowed Ultimatum features a linear-based style of plotlines in order to tell the unique stories of the characters they're playing. It begins with 6 plotlines, one for each main playable character. As plotlines are completed, others are unlocked. This allows the players to switch between the plotlines almost seamlessly, so that things don't get boring, but they can still keep their character information for later in the game.

Hallowed Ultimatum, as mentioned above, is very plot-driven, but there's plenty of player involvement too. The more the players put in, the more they get out. Description is the key! Describing the methods of your attack and the way your character does so can mean the difference between killing your enemy and barely leaving a mark. This forces players to think decisively about their attacks, while at the same time keeping things intense and forcing them to get into character.

Traditional fantasy elements are present in Hallowed Ultimatum, such as magic, Summon creatures, various species of creatures and an overall "fantasy" feeling. While not medieval, the setting isn't futuristic either. It's a fine line between fantasy and modern reality.

The key of the game as a whole is to really make your players think, get them into the game and really allow them to experience a style of role-playing that hasn't yet been seen. And we think we've accomplished that task very well.
